Simme Valley
is
owned and operated by Ken & Jeanne White. We have been breeding Simmental cattle since
1972 using 100% artificial insemination. 2004 was the first (and only) year we
used a bull naturally - our stud bull Macho As U. Now that we
are running 50 cows, we will be using a bull for clean-up.
We strive to produce stylish, predictable females
that work for us and our customers, both in and out of the showring.
Structurally sound, easy keeping cattle have been of utmost importance to us, and it shows
in our herd.
Personal:
Ken is a Director and past President of the New York Simmental
Association, and Jeanne is
the Secretary/Treasurer, and editor of the NYSA newsletter and directory. We are very
active in showing our cattle at local, state, regional and some national fairs. We stay involved with the
youth programs in our state and Jeanne is an Advisor for the NY Junior Beef
Producers Assn. Jeanne has been breed representative
on the New York Beef Improvement Committee (N.Y. Bull Test) since 1979.
Ken works full time off the farm, managing a fertilizer/chemical plant. Jeanne is full
time on the farm. Our farm is located on the South edge of Cayuga County, in the
beautiful Finger Lakes Region. We recently acquired another 58 acre
farm adjoining our 100 acre farm, and we lease 55 acres across the road.
